5th Edition is about to start
Treviso Suona Jazz Festival takes the jazz music to Treviso along with more than 100 artists from 17th to 26th May 2019. The Treviso Jazz festival was founded by the cultural association Urbano Contemporaneo with Artistic Direction by the double bass player Nicola Bortolanza. This year offers a rich line up and a quality cultural proposal that embraces movies, comics, photography and paintings.

Award-winning Italian jazz musicians, free concerts with the Big Band of two Music Conservatories, workshops, films as well as exhibitions is the recipe. Venues will be amazing historical palazzi in town. Therefore the purpose is to enhance the historical heritage of Treviso and to create an exclusive relationship among music, art and architecture. Indoor concerts will see prominent artists from the national and international scene.
Scott Hamilton& Paolo Birroperfome at Palazzo Giacomelli on Wednesday 22nd May presenting the brand new CD to the public. Scott Hamilton, swing icon, is the performer of an extraordinarily elegant music, based on an impeccable phrasing and a fascinating sound. Paolo Birro, awarded as Top Jazz Musician in 1995, is one of the most important pianists in our country.
On 24th Friday, the stage will be the awesome Church of San Gaetano. The new project of the clarinetist Gabriele Mirabassi, who has been more than thirty years among the best clarinetists on the world scene, and the accordionist Simone Zanchini, considered one of the most original and innovative accordionists in the international scene.
Most importantly do not miss the event at the “Teatro delle Voci” on Saturday 25th May. A unique and avant-garde space for versatility and acoustics, with the Spiritual trio byFabrizio Bosso. The Spiritual Trio is one of his most fascinating projects. The line-up is completed by Alberto Marsicoand by a drummer with a amazing swing like Alessandro Minetto.
Following the success of the previous editions, the main concerts will be flanked by “improvvisazioni per la città“, events dedicated to those who want to match good food and good music: jazz lunch, jazz dinnerand aperitifs downtown.Enjoyable and accessible music to everyone, even for non-specialists and for those who want to relax and enjoy some time in Treviso.
